The Romanian Comenius Team headed by Emanuela Popescu wishes you all to be healthy and happy by the end of the year and to fulfill all your plans in 2012 !

PORTUGAL
In November we have signed a protocol of partnership with “Lar dos Pinheiros” an Institution in Évora, Portugal. This institution is a retirement home. Two representatives of this institution were at our school some time earlier and we've decided what to do together.

A SPECIAL VISIT IN OUR SCHOOL
On 11th November we had a special afternoon at our school. We had some guests, special ones: some elderly who live at “Lar dos Pinheiros”. A group of students received them and showed them the school.
We were at the Music class and sang several songs all together. Then we had a cup of tea with some cake, sweet potatoes and boiled chestnuts, because on the 11th (St. Martin’s Day), it’s a tradition to eat these fruits. We talked shared stories and experiences of life.

We had a lot of fun!
On the 24th November, in the afternoon, students and teachers of the Comenius Club visited “Lar Obra S. José Operário” a retirement home in Évora.  The teacher and the students of the Gymnastics Club, another club of our school “Escola Básica Santa Clara”, joined us, because they were going to performed for the elderly. As the retirement home is a bit far from our school, some of us went by car with the matrixes and the others went by bus. Everyone was expecting us and as soon as we loaded the matrixes we said hello and presented ourselves, our clubs and work. The Gym students did their act which was beautifully performed and appreciated by all.
The students of the Comenius Club mingled with the elderly, took photos, chatted, made friends, told stories... Before leaving we were offered a nice snack which we happily ate.
This December they are going to pay our visit and coming to school.
We can’t wait!
